Maureen Buchanan Jones, Ph.D.
Maureen offers creative writing workshops for writers of all genres and at all levels of skills and experience. The workshop process is based on the method developed by Pat Schneider, founder of Amherst Writers & Artists and author of Writing Alone and With Others.
Maureen is currently the Training Director and an Affiliate member of Amherst Writers & Artists. For nine years she was the Executive Director of AWA. She provides experienced as well as uncertain writers with a safe, encouraging atmosphere in which to write. Maureen offers free-lance writing services, which include manuscript development, editing, ghost writing and collaboration on written projects.
Maureen’s poetry has appeared in 13th moon, Women in Natural Resources, North Dakota Quarterly Review, Peregrine, WriterAdvice, Equinox and Calyx. Her prose has appeared in Everyday Fiction, Orion and on WFCR – NPR. She is the author of the young-adult novel Maud & Addie and the book of poetry blessed are the menial chores.
